Course Description
Essentials for Becoming a Transformational Leader is a workshop that covers leadership at the individual, team and external (or system) levels. The goal is to introduce concepts, approaches, and tools that will help you develop your own leadership skills as well as the skills of others (both inside and outside your organization) so that you can better achieve your organizational goals.

1.2 Strategic Leadership for Social Transformation Training Course 
Course Description
Strategic Leadership for Social Transformation is a capacity building course aimed to prepare social development strategists. Throughout the course, participants will gain deeper knowledge and skills in analyzing socio-economic situations at community, local, national and international levels, as well as knowledge about processes and mechanisms in national and provincial strategic planning. They will also learn about skills and techniques in engaging partners and related networks who share common interests and socio-economic impact assessment tools that lead to strategy formulation and strategic impact evaluation. Ultimately, participants will be able to create effective policy advocacy that results in substantial change in the society. 
 
Objective
1)  To improve participants’ knowledge of the changing economic system, global society and Thailand, and civil society development 
2)  To enhance participants’ skills in analyzing, planning, monitoring, evaluating, advocating and conducting socially responsible activities. 
3) To promote positive attitude, awareness and value of CSOs work and raise public consciousness of CSOs transformational leadership 
 
Course Structure
1)  Dynamics of Global, Regional, National and Local Economies Participants will learn about the impact of current global trends on socio-economic changes at the regional, national and local levels, for instance, free trade, human rights violation, and other concepts such as neo-liberalism, community self-governance, decentralization and other social movements such as environment, human rights and health, etc.  
2)  Socio-Economic and Environmental Impact Assessment Tools Participants will gain better understanding and skills in applying different socio-economic tools/indicators to their local context to create social change, for example, Environment Impact Assessment, Health Impact Assessment, Provincial Government Index.
3)  National and Local Strategic Planning Processes and Mechanisms Participants will learn about processes/mechanisms in national and provincial strategic planning, enabling them (CSOs) to properly access and address civil society’s agenda in the provincial, regional and national strategies and plans. Moreover, participants will learn about tools used in policy formulation and monitoring at different levels such as Community Scorecard, Citizens Charter.
4)   Stakeholder Analysis and Network Engagement Participants will understand and can conduct stakeholder analysis incorporating public, private and civil society sectors. They are able to collaborate with all stakeholders to achieve shared development goals. Besides, participants will learn about the art and techniques of modern day communications to bring about synergy and understanding among all stakeholders and partners, for instance, social online network or mobile application.  
5) Policy Advocacy: From Local to National Participants will gain knowledge and understanding about leadership styles that fit them. The session includes how to strengthen leadership skills, conflict management, influencing and negotiating, effective mentoring and coaching, creating organizational learning culture and leadership.  
6)  Becoming a Transformational Leader Participants will have a chance to explore, analyze and identify social agenda of their interest. Through group work and coaching processes from experts, participants will design and formulate a policy campaign, ready to be advocated among stakeholders in order to set this CSO agenda in the local (or provincial, regional and local administration) development strategy. The process is followed by evaluation and policy advocacy report to be presented at a seminar.   
 
 
1.3 Youth Leader Camp
 
Course Description 
To tackle today social issues requires power of the next generations, ‘the young spirits,’ who will be in charge and lead the social change as ‘civil society young leaders.’ Thus, it is a task of today CSOs leaders to instill traits of public consciousness and social service in the young minds to develop full potential of future leaders who will be a driving force of the society.   
Content of the Youth Leader Camp focuses on how to boost participants’ public consciousness alongside learning about global and social issues. It puts an emphasis on learning from real experiences and active participation (thinking, writing, exchange of views and wrap-up) as well as creative & effective communications.   
 
Objective 
1) To learn about public consciousness ideology and leadership traits for social development
2) To understand global, social and local concepts and evolution 
3) To master public speaking and communication to drive social change
4) To promote peer-to-peer learning and social network building to support one another  
 
Course Structure 
1)  Know Yourself and Understand Others ‘Know yourself – understand others – respect others – make friends and learn together’ is a participatory dialogue framework that outlines mutual rules, goals and learning processes. It provides an open stage for participants to get to know themselves and others. They can address problems, recognize social diversity and learn to respect others. They can ask themselves deeper questions, questions about the meaning of life, and recognize the importance of boosting public consciousness.  
2)  Know the World and the Society ‘Analyzing globalization – access to development and non-violence management.’ Gaining knowledge of global status, social structure and transition, social and community impact, participants will understand roots of the problems and how to address conflict issues and social disparity.   
3) Peer-to-Peer Learning ‘Learning through volunteer peer, the community and civil society organizations to bring about social change’ Youth participants will get to know CSOs, exchange views with CSOs leaders on their area-based or issue-based agenda such as environmental management, agriculture, the homeless, HIV, children women and the elderly, etc. The real-life learning will inspire and motivate young people to take action and contribute to society. 
4) Communicating to Drive Social Change ‘The art and innovation of constructive communications to lead change.’ This session gives open platform for participants to share their experiences through creative communications of their choices, for instance, public speaking, storytelling, a play, games, social media and other communication schemes.  
5) Lessons Learned and Driving towards Change ‘Capture lessons learned – share life lessons – plan to communicate among peer and society.’ Participants review and exchange what they have learned, knowledge they have gained, their thoughts, feelings and experiences during the camp. They provide the organizer team with reflection and feedback about the Youth Camp so that the team can evaluate and review the course learning process and redesign the camp to better appeal to the future generation.
