During 6-8 December, 2017, USAID-Funded Civil Society Partnerships Project (CSPP) under Khon Kaen University’s Center for Civil Society and Nonprofit Management (CSNM) organized piloted-training in Becoming a Transformational Leader at Chalong Boutiques Hotel, Kalasin Province. Totally, 29 representatives from 18 CSOs core partners attended this training. Main objective aims to make use of qualified trainers from previous TOTs which was conducted in August 21-25, 2017 as well as to strengthen CSOs’ capability to become transformational leaders.
Contextually, course mentioned toward characteristics and significance of leaders, transformational leader development, leadership communication approach, challenges faced and solution designs. Moreover, conflict management both internal and external organization, motivation and negotiation techniques, changes management and inspiration, mentoring and coaching, effective team building, organizational learning and leadership promoting including but not limits to transformational leader’s goals and planning. Training process emphasized on participatory approach and appreciative inquiry as well as adult learning. Participants were assigned through group exercises with analytical thinking and brainstorming. World café’ for rotational presentation and feedback from the floor provided are applicable. Relevant Ice-breaking for group relations and relaxations applied. Finally, summarizing overall contents and raised questions were a concluded session for expectations met at least.
