Vision
The Center for Civil Society and Nonprofit Management (CSNM) is dedicated to enhancing the quality of leadership and organizational management in nonprofit and civil society organizations across Thailand and the Greater Mekong Subregion. Strong and effective non-state, non-business organizations are crucial for improving the overall efficiency of public services and for fostering a just, equitable, and sustainable society.
Vision Statement:
“Civil society partnerships for creating inclusive spaces that promote equity, justice, and sustainability.”
Mission
CSNM is committed to three core missions:
-
Capacity Building for Civil Society Organizations
CSNM develops the capacities of civil society organizations to effectively engage with government and business sectors. Areas of focus include project management, organizational development, financial management for small organizations, strategic leadership for change, and policy advocacy. These efforts are delivered through training programs, customized capacity-building processes, and tailored consultations. CSNM also collaborates with academic programs within the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences to support lifelong learning in line with Khon Kaen University’s educational policies. -
Driving Change through Research
Leveraging Khon Kaen University’s academic and research expertise, CSNM mobilizes human resources to advance civil society’s role in public affairs. Research is applied as a tool to foster civic participation and drive social change. The Center collaborates with domestic and international research funding agencies, including the USAID Together Project, Thailand Environment Institute, the European Union, and the Mekong-ROK Cooperation Fund (MKCF). -
Building Collaborative Networks
Civil society engagement and transformative change require strong multi-stakeholder collaboration. CSNM provides a “platform” for knowledge exchange, coordination, and agenda-setting among partners to collectively advance societal priorities. The Center recognizes the importance of collaboration as a foundation for sustainable change.
